GIDF USA Hosts Its Very Own Spooktacular Desi Halloween Party

Halloween is an ideal time for parties and get-togethers. All age groups from infants to kids to mid aged and even older people dress to impress in their favorite costumes .Hence, GIDF USA decided to host one and that to in its pure Desi style. The party was organized in an Indian bistro called TANTRIC, which is located in downtown Boston, a popular destination for parties and social occasions.
It was on the night of October 29th, 10PM onwards, and the guests started pouring in with full of excitement and ready to party hard. The decorations were done tastefully yet spooky by using the most popular symbol, which is the jack-o-lantern. White and orange spider web were spread out all over the place and to add to the spooktacular ambience, skeleton heads were hung on all the walls. To top it all, the lights were dimmed and the use fog effect just added to the whole spooky feel.
It was amazing to see how much effort everyone had put in choosing the right costume for the night. Some dressed like a police officer, a fire woman, a queen, Dracula, cowboy, pirate etc. while some entered wearing a couple’s costume of a doctor and nurse. But the most impressive costume was a lady dressed as a Black Swan. She wore a black corset dress with a tiara and painted her eyes in black and silver as wings. She was later given a prize for the best dressed costume- female. The men can obviously not be left out because they also got dressed to simply impress. The best dressed male was as a Mexican/ Spanish cowboy. All the guests were entertained by one of Boston’s best DJ, who not only played the latest Bollywood songs but tuned it with 80’s remixes and a few American songs as well. Delicious India appetizers were served which included cocktail samosas, chilly chicken and spinach kabab, which were sponsored by Gourmet India.
Even though the weather condition was not very cooperative and accompanied the night with a severe snow storm, but that didn’t stop the attendees from supporting GIDF’s cause, as the proceeds of this event was donated for the education of the less-privileged children in India.
