Empowering the BPL Rural Youths - Hindustan, 9 April 2011

Aurobindo Chaudhuri Memorial Great Indian Dream Foundation is implementing the Swarna Jayanti Swarozgar Yojana in the district of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The Foundation will be providing vocational training to 500 rural youth from the below the poverty line families in the trades of electrician, bar bender and masonry. The idea of the project is to empower the youth with skill training in order to make them better employed. The first batch in basic electrical for 150 youths was initiated in the blocks of Kudwar and Baldiray on the 7th of March’11. The training was done as per the course module prescribed by the Modular Employable Skills. During the training, the candidates were provided with both theory and practical classes. The entire session had an active attendance of over 85% by the trainees which was appreciated by Mr. A.K. Singh (Training & Statistical) of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Sultanpur. The month long training got over on the 8th of April’11 and the trainees were awarded with Certificates by the Block President of Kudwar, Mr. Ashwa Vijay Singh in the presence of officials from the DRDA. During the training period guest lectures were also conducted by experts from the field of Electrical trade and the trainees were given an orientation about the prospects of the Electrical trade.
