Documantary competition for IIPM Students

More than 14 million people across Delhi live in slums. These communities, where residents live, work, and raise their children, are characterized by inadequate housing, lack of basic services, overcrowding, and high levels of violence and insecurity. There are specific rights we all have to do with where and how we live. Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for our health and well-being – including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services. GID Club had recently introduced a unique social initiative for the students of IIPM Delhi. The idea behind which, was to sensitize the people of our community about the reality of slums in Delhi by showcasing it with the help of a documentary. The students were briefed about the prerequisites of the documentary well in advance and were asked to cover one slum of Delhi in groups of 5. The total participation of the students was above 900. Once the video was filmed, the students had to upload it on YouTube and promote it as well. The videos that get maximum numbers of likes was to be declared as the winner. The students had participated with a lot of enthusiasm and had also address to several social issues. The effort made by them was rather commendable. The winners of the competition were Deepak Yadav, Deevyansh Rustagi, Mandeep Rawat, Sahil Jain & Shivam Gupta
